A&E Television Network Vice President joins Innovation Agency

Chicago, May 3, 2011 — Innovation agency Maddock Douglas, an internationally recognized firm that helps leading corporations develop new products, services and business models, has named Matt Lashey Vice President of Innovation.

Lashey joins Maddock Douglas with more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, most recently as Vice President of Strategic Insights at A&E Television Networks.

“The media world is changing rapidly and Matt is an expert when it comes to these changes. He understands how people — particularly women — are using new technology to communicate, make decisions and connect,” said Mike Maddock, CEO of Maddock Douglas. “We are incredibly happy to welcome Matt back to the MD family so he can share his big brain with our clients.”

At AETN, Lashey led the strategy and execution of consumer insights projects for Lifetime Networks and Digital Assets, including a major initiative to capitalize on casual gaming opportunities and to help establish Lifetime as an authority on the women gamers market. He is also a frequent speaker on women and gaming at industry events.

Prior to AETN, Lashey was Director of Media and Entertainment at Markitecture, a strategic insights consulting firm that was later acquired by Maddock Douglas. At Markitecture, he helped companies such as ESPN, International Paper, McGraw Hill and Hess develop insights for the purposes of new product development and innovation projects. Lashey has also worked at The Sundance Institute, Cromarty & Co. and MTV/Comedy Central.

“I know from personal experience that media and entertainment companies are working hard to understand the evolving needs and wants of their audiences,” said Lashey. “Maddock Douglas is perhaps the best innovation company in the world to help define those future global issues to grow audiences and differentiate themselves in a very competitive landscape. I am very excited to be a part of it.”

Lashey, who resides in Los Angeles, California, holds an MBA from Columbia Business School with a double concentration in Media Management and Marketing.
