11.29.2010 — Maddock Douglas, Inc. announced the acquisition of Biro Creative, Inc. as part of a multi-year strategy to lead in sustainable innovation. Biro is a Vancouver based creative firm that specializes in creating online movements driven by conscious consumers and change leaders.
“Earlier this year we acquired Change, Inc. a Vancouver-based consultancy which gave Maddock Douglas the ability to develop the green innovations our customers are demanding. Biro advances the offering by giving us additional expertise in bringing these green innovations to market.” Says Mike Maddock, CEO of Maddock Douglas.
Maddock Douglas is the nation’s leading, mind-to-market innovation agency. They help their clients find large unmet consumer needs, invent new products, services and business models to meet those needs and then brand and launch the best ideas. MD clients include 25% of the Fortune 100 and their in-market innovation successes include everything from agriculture products, to food products, to insurance services to software.
Biro co-founders Brant Cheetham, Nicholas Klassen and Tim Walker are excited to bring their team to the MD family. On behalf of the staff and management, Walker says: “Make Change Irresistible is our tagline. It really sums up our purpose. We believe in the power of movements – the power of everyday people to drive the success of things they care about. And we believe in the process of co-creation - specifically that non-profits and for-profits can come together to solve our biggest problems. This is where the next generation of truly world changing innovations is coming from. This is why we’ve joined forces with the team at Maddock Douglas.”
“Innovation is, by its nature, forward movement. Corporations already understand the environmental and operational advantages of sustainability. Now they see the bottom line advantages of sustainability, and we want to help them move forward and take advantage of this megatrend – without costly mistakes and steep learning curves”, says Raphael Louis Viton, President of Maddock Douglas.
